Professional Background

Steve has over 42 years of banking experience. Prior to his current role at Woodsboro, he held executive roles with regional and community banks in New York, Ohio, and Maryland. His roles often focus on building, fixing, and growing business units and culture. He is active in the Frederick community serving as Vice-Chair of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Corporator at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Member and Past President of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, past Board Chair for the YMCA of Frederick, former coach for Frederick Stars Women’s Lacrosse Club, and past board member of The Maryland Science Center, Baltimore, Maryland.  He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Alfred University Board of Trustees. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree from Alfred University and an MBA from the University of Albany. He is a graduate of Leadership Frederick and Leadership Capital District, Albany, New York. Steve is the first recipient of the Leadership Frederick County Impact Leader of the Year award in 2023.

Causes I'm Passionate About

  • Steve has a particular focus on supporting education from youth through college age students. He believes education is the great equalizer to provide quality opportunities for all people.
  • In his second tour on the Frederick Chamber of Commerce board of directors, Steve believes supporting businesses to ensure a vibrant business community providing quality jobs is at the core of a health community.
  • Steve and his wife, Carole, are avid outdoors enthusiast that support the creation of safe biking lanes and laws on roads. They also support nature preserves, parks, and forests that offer access to recreational activities.
