Adjustable rate mortgages link to an index that determines the behavior of the interest rate after the initial phase has passed. This index controls whether the interest rate drops or rises between adjustments.

When you apply for an ARM, we add percentage points to the index, and this ultimately calculates your payable rate. Your mortgage will also be capped over its lifetime to limit how much your rate can rise between adjustments.
