Woodsboro Bank’s Maryland Affordable Housing Trust Account (MAHTA) is used by approved attorneys, title insurers and agents to hold small dollar, short-term escrow funds. All interest earned will go to the Maryland Affordable Housing Trust (MAHT) to help fund the building of affordable housing in the state.

MAHT's Impactful Initiatives


The activities funded by MAHT serve those households that earn less than half of the statewide median income. These activities aim to:

  • Provide for low-income residents
  • Provide housing for families with small children and/or single adults in single room occupancy units
  • Support feasible long-term affordability
  • Demonstrate the need/demand for housing in a geographic area to help achieve equitable geographic distribution of MAHT fund
  • Promote self-sufficiency
