Frederick, Maryland - In response to a growing demand for community-centric and locally rooted financial leadership, Woodsboro Bank is pleased to announce its official expansion into Mt. Airy, with plans to open a new full-service branch location at 505 E Ridgeville Blvd. in early 2027. The move formalizes their commitment to a town where the bank already has active clients, relationships, and team members who live and work locally.
“At Woodsboro Bank, community is our business, and we are excited to extend the reach of our impact by helping the residents and business owners of Mt. Airy achieve their goals,” said Rich Ohnmacht, President & CEO of Woodsboro Bank. “Communities thrive when families and local businesses have a committed financial partner working alongside them, so we are excited to bring our relationship-first model, fast local answers, and personalized service directly to Mt. Airy.”
The Mt. Airy team will be powered by Chris Clemons, Chief Commercial Banking Officer, Kevin Kisner, Vice President & Commercial Banker, Ryan Morrison, Commercial Banker, and Tanya Miller, who will serve as the lead on business development activities. Miller brings over 15 years of volunteer service with the 4 County Lions Club of Mt. Airy, where she currently serves on the board of directors. Her involvement reflects the bank’s core belief that neighbors come first.
“Mt. Airy is a community that is near and dear to my heart,” said Miller. “The people there thrive on connection, compassion, and supporting one another—values that Woodsboro Bank lives by every day. I am excited to welcome both new and familiar faces into the branch.”
For years prior to this growth moment, the bank and its team members have actively supported the local area through long-standing involvement with the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce, the 4 County Lions Club, and various civic initiatives that align with their clients’ values. Team members have plans to participate in the following upcoming events: the Annual Mt. Airy Duck Race, Mt. Airy Main Street Association Oktoberfest, and the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce Bull & Oyster Roast.
Opening a brick-and-mortar location is a natural next step in bringing a physical home to the relationships and service the bank has long delivered in Mt. Airy. The new branch features a dedicated community room built specifically to host events and bring neighbors together—a physical manifestation of putting the community front and center. This relationship-first approach is why existing local clients have long trusted the bank to support their growth.
“Our family has been personal customers of Woodsboro Bank for years, and as local business owners of Hauptman Builders and Mt. Airy Daycare & Learning Center, we've experienced firsthand the difference a true community bank can make,” said Bill and Trudy Hauptman. “Woodsboro Bank has been an invaluable partner in helping us grow our businesses. Their team is always friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in our success. Having people who answer the phone, understand our goals, and make local decisions has made all the difference. We are thrilled to see Woodsboro Bank open a dedicated branch in Mount Airy and are excited to welcome them to the community. Their commitment to supporting local families and businesses will be a tremendous asset to our town.”
Ultimately, Woodsboro Bank’s arrival in Mt. Airy is much more than an expansion. It represents a long-standing commitment to being the trusted guide for a growing community. By prioritizing human connections over account numbers, the bank stands ready to support local ambitions for every goal, transition, and pivot ahead.
