As a community bank, Woodsboro Bank believes that strength and growth within our community comes first from a commitment to knowing its people. For generations we have partnered with the businesses that make Frederick County great.
Whether you’re looking for a sweet treat, a locally made meal, or something to wash it all down with, the businesses of Amber Seiss has you covered. Amber runs The Farmhouse Exchange, Gateway Candyland, and Gateway Liquors based out of Thurmont. Coming soon are three new ventures from Amber: Magnolia Meadow Farms, The Mathwig Wedding Barn, and The Farmhouse at Magnolia Meadow Farms.
The Farmhouse Exchange boasts responsibly raised local meat along with deli offerings and fresh sandwiches. Partnering with local farms and businesses, the goal of the store is to offer a wide range of affordable local goods to the public. Next door, Gateway Candyland is “the corner store that still sells those little pieces of heaven.” Originally opened in 1983, Amber took over the shop and continued the tradition. Now, Gateway Candyland carries homemade fudge, Hershey’s ice cream, and a large selection of candy making supplies along with today’s favorite treats and nostalgic candies.
Opening this fall, Magnolia Meadow Farms is a returning local favorite with a new name and fresh look. This family-owned farm hosts activities for all ages like Maryland’s largest corn maze, and pick-your-own sunflowers and pumpkins making it perfect for birthday parties, company outings or family occasions.
Also coming soon is the Mathwig Wedding Barn a picturesque location of weddings or private events. Nestled at the base of the Catocin Mountains and surrounded by farmland, the barn has been carefully restored with wood floors, beaming, and soft lighting to comfortably hold 150 guests.
Need a place to stay while attending a wedding or just looking for a breath of fresh air? Look no further than the Farmhouse at Magnolia Meadow Farms. This thoughtfully updated, 5 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom ranch-style home on 22 acres of total seclusion is the perfect, private getaway for you and the whole family while still being conveniently located.
Through our years of partnership, Woodsboro Bank and Amber have created a relationship based in trust and dedication. "Working with a local bank is important to me,” says Amber, “When we can work together as a team toward a shared goal, the opportunities are endless. They are absolutely a key part of my success!"
These businesses are a few of the many local businesses that continue to make Frederick County a special place!
