One Woodsboro Volunteer Spotlight – March 2022

march 31 2022 blogAt Woodsboro Bank, one of our core values is commitment to our community. Our mission of serving Frederick County is not limited to financial matters. Each year the bank supports a wide variety of philanthropic, cultural, and charitable organizations for the betterment of the community. All colleagues receive 24 paid hours of volunteer time each year. That’s 24 regular working hours they can put back into the community without taking time off!

Our colleagues take our values to heart and go above and beyond giving back to our community. We are proud of the work they do and want to show our appreciation by highlighting a Woodsboro Bank colleague volunteer monthly.

This month’s One Woodsboro Volunteer Spotlight is J.R. Delauter, Senior Vice President, Deposit Operations Manager. J.R. is an active member of our community serving in the Woodsboro Historical Society, Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Woodsboro Planning and Zoning Commission and as a Board Member of Mt. Hope Cemetery. Through these organizations, J.R. has held positions as Treasurer and Secretary and worked on projects planning events, fundraising, record management and much more.

Volunteering has always been a part of J.R.’s life. Growing up, his mother was an active leader of programs at church, and J.R. quickly followed in her footsteps getting involved with similar activities through church, the soups kitchen, assisting residents at Montevue Home.

When choosing where to focus his time, J.R. considers the impact on the area he grew up in. “Seeing a real need being fulfilled, whether that be in the form of a direct human needs or adding some other quality of life/community betterment factor, it makes me proud to be a part of something,” he states. “We are not all situated alike; we do not all have like opportunities, and we are not all gifted alike…we should all endeavor to use well that which we have – to help those who cannot help themselves is divine.” (Wm. Shoup, 1905)

Thank you to J.R., for all your hard work and dedication to improving our community!
